| ABOUT US Military Housing and Lodging Institute (MHLI) MHLI is a unique organization designed to provide a wide range of specialized support to the federal government with emphasis on the management and operation of family, bachelor, and transient housing for the military Services of the Department of Defense, including the Coast Guard. Managed and staffed by former senior federal employees, both civilian and military, MHLI has a broad understanding of the needs of organizations operating in todays fast paced and changing environment. CORPORATE STATUS The Military Housing and Lodging Institute, a non-profit organization, is incorporated in the state of Virginia and operates under federal statutes as a section 501(c)(3) or educational non-profit institute.It was founded to provide high quality management consulting, functional training and survey preparation for Department of Defense. ORGANIZATION MHLI is governed by a Board of Directors who are former senior managers of military and lodging programs. These directors serve without compensation other than reimbursement of direct expenses. MHLI draws upon the expertise of individuals well-versed in the issues, procedures and requirements both the Defense Department and the private sector. Drawing upon their many years of experience, MHLI can provide a top quality product prepared by experts who understand the environment. STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS MHLI is closely aligned with several organizations to enhance its development and delivery of services. Training programs for federal and private sector employees working directly with military housing and lodging are specifically structured to support the Professional Housing Management Association (PHMA), the partner organization of MHLI.
